Following the launch of the new iPhone 15 cases, Harber London’s leather MacBook cases are now available to protect and transport your Apple laptop, whether it’s the new M3 model or an older model (basically all 13, 14, 15, and 16-inch models). Today, we’ll be focusing on the Harber London Magnetic Envelope MacBook Case, as that’s the model I’ve been testing for a few weeks, but most of my impressions apply to all of the brand’s leather MacBook cases. In short, it’s a gorgeous, luxurious choice, although admittedly a bit pricey and could do with a little more bulk. As part of our ongoing Tested with 9to5Toys series, check out our hands-on impressions of the Harber London Magnetic MacBook Case below.

The Harber London Magnetic Envelope for MacBook is one of a series of highly anticipated Harber-branded designs that are compatible with virtually all of Apple’s laptop and iPad cases, including the new M3 model announced last night. In my opinion, these gorgeous, handcrafted leather and wool felt cases are just what your new Space Black MacBook (or any other model, for that matter) deserves.
While some full leather models, like the Slim Leather Case and Zippered Slim Leather Case, are available in a variety of colors, the Harber London Magnetic MacBook Case is only available in beige or black leather.
Prices start at $111, with additional charges for 15-inch and 16-inch MacBook models. You can also add personalized text for about $10.
Like Harber London’s leather goods, this bag is well made, crafted from luxurious full-grain leather and felt. The soft felt covers the outside of the case and extends inside, providing soft protection for your MacBook.
It’s a full-grain leather that develops a natural patina over time and is made from 100% wool felt, “a natural fiber derived from sheep.” Harber claims it’s “a renewable and eco-friendly material that provides traditional care and protection,” is tear-resistant, contains an anti-static component, is moisture-resistant, and is flame-retardant. It’s also “naturally stain-resistant and soft to the touch.” After weeks of testing, I can almost attest to that.
Decorative stitching forms a beautiful X pattern along the front leather edge, magnetic flap and front panel. The overall design is elegant and made of high-quality materials, which makes it versatile: it is easy to take with you to the airport, cafe or office.
You may have noticed that the Magnetic Envelope Case product page mentions a “MacBook pass-through charging system.” The main opening at the top of the case flares out slightly toward the rounded corners around the perimeter, leaving just enough room for the charging cable to pass through the device inside the case without obstruction. While this is possible, there’s very little room, and you may have to move your MacBook a little closer to the opening to easily insert the charging cable. Personally, I rarely spend too much time charging because when it does, I simply lift the device a little to finish charging, so it’s not a big deal for me.
There’s not much to say about the magnetic design. It just works, and it works well. There are four small magnets (wrapped in leather) on the box, two on the top flap and two along the top of the box that snap shut. I would have preferred a more hidden design, where the outline of the round magnet is not visible at all when the box is open. But when the box is closed, it’s still not visible. Of course, this is just my personal complaint, and a pretty picky one at that, but it doesn’t ruin the overall experience or stop me from buying it.
Today we’re focusing on the Magnetic Envelope Case for MacBook. In fact, Harber London also has a whole series of cases, ranging from full microfiber cases, pure leather cases, and full leather zippered cases. If they’re anything like the Magnetic Envelope Cases (and other full leather cases from the brand I’ve written about), they’ll also be a great choice for protecting your MacBook or iPad.
Yes, the Harber London leather MacBook case is expensive, but most quality leather items are quite expensive and usually worth the money. There are plenty of options on Amazon ranging from $25 to $70, but it’s hard to imagine a cheaper, more beautiful, more durable, and more sturdy case than the genuine leather cases handcrafted in Spain by Harber London.
