As a travel writer and avid globetrotter, I’m a master of traveling light—except for my tech gear. I need a wide range of electronic devices (laptop, phone, watch, headphones, and chargers) as well as all the cables and accessories I need for work and play. So it’s just as important to me to keep all that gear organized, secure, and tangle-free so I can stay charged and connected while I’m on the road. That’s why I’ve long known that I need to invest in a quality, durable, and easy-to-use tech travel bag. I currently use the Dagne Dover Arlo Tech Organizer to go with me on my travels.
To bring you the best options, T+L tested a variety of travel organizers — for work, everyday mobility, and travel. We rated each product based on ease of use, quality, organization, and overall value. Whether you need a compact organizer for your personal items or a larger organizer for multiple devices, we’ve rounded up the best travel gadget organizers for every taste and budget, keeping your gear organized and clutter-free wherever you go.
This tech organizer is well-designed and durable – it’s flexible and easy to use. We carried it with us every day for a week and were able to easily access and tuck away our cables each time we used it. While we were initially skeptical about its capacity, we were ultimately impressed with how well it held all of our accessories. It fits easily into a laptop backpack and is still easily accessible. It’s made from lightweight, durable nylon and features high-quality zippers that are easy to open and close. After multiple uses, we haven’t noticed any noticeable signs of wear and tear and expect it to last a long time.
The flexible interior keeps things organized with zippered pockets, flexible fabric dividers, and a fur-lined smartphone compartment. This case stood out for its superior construction and quality compared to other products we tested. Sure, there are more affordable options, but this one definitely beats them all for functionality, durability, and thoughtful storage. Our only complaint is that it would have been nice to have a little more elastic to better secure the cable.
Our top pick: The Native Union Travel Tech Organizer is a lightweight, compact, and well-designed bag that can hold all your gear. It’s compact yet roomy, with flexible straps to keep chargers, AirPods, and other electronics securely in place. An exterior pocket provides quick access to essentials without having to unzip the main compartment—a big plus for on-the-go use. The bag is made from coated canvas and features waterproof zippers that are durable and effective at preventing spills.
Inside, there are various pockets and straps to secure everything from laptop cables to pens and memory cards. All items can be easily stored and accessed. This storage bag is high quality and affordable, making it an ideal choice for budget-friendly and quality storage on the go.

The Aer Cable Kit 2 X-Pac is spacious and well-designed, perfect for keeping cables and accessories neatly organized. The bright orange lining makes it easy to find items, which can be difficult in low-light conditions or for those with visual impairments, and multiple separate compartments prevent cables from getting tangled. We love that it can be stored vertically, making it easy to access.
We tested it during a weeklong international trip and were able to easily fit universal adapters, chargers, headphones, AirTags, and more with room to spare. The high-quality stitching and durable zippers are designed to last without fraying or unraveling. While we found it a bit heavy due to the heavy-duty material, the thoughtful design and durability make it worth the money.
This shoulder tech organizer is easy to carry, stylish, and provides quick access to your gear while traveling. In our testing, we found it comfortable to wear and not bulky.
This durable, high-quality material is incredibly resistant to stains, wind and rain; our tests showed no noticeable wear. Five multi-functional pockets, both zipped and open, keep your belongings safe and prevent them from shifting or getting tangled while you’re on the move.
The bright interior trim enhances visibility (bright exterior trim is optional). We also like that it offers more storage space than a fanny pack while still leaving your hands free. Perfect for travelers who need to store their electronic devices but don’t want to carry a large bag or purse.
We’d like to see an additional zippered pocket for storing small, bulky items like headphones or batteries.
The large tech case from Away has plenty of room to store all your gadgets. The dual zippers allow for quick access without opening the case completely, and the elastic straps keep small essentials like headphones and USB drives securely in place. The material of the bag is super durable and has excellent waterproof features. We found the size and number of compartments to be perfect for our needs while working at a coffee shop.
This organizer offers ample storage space with an elastic band for chargers, pens, and small items, as well as a zippered compartment for rarely used cables and laptop chargers. It also has a larger compartment that will fit a Kindle. However, for the price, we would have liked more zippered pockets for storing small cables, batteries, or headphones. However, the case’s construction and durability are excellent.
Such large suitcases take up quite a lot of space for personal belongings, so they are not suitable for people traveling light.
The larger version of the Dagne Dover Storage Bag is roomy and well-designed. We found it to be the perfect option for travelers who need to organize multiple chargers, adapters, headphones, and more. Elastic loops keep everything securely in place, and mesh pockets are great for hard drives, small tablets, and other accessories. An external slip pocket allows you to store an extra amount of flash drives (or hair ties, or whatever else you consider “essential”). It’s made from Repreve recycled polyester, which is durable and eco-friendly. Note: While this organizer is great for organizing your tech essentials, its large size will take up a lot of space in your personal bag, so it’s not ideal for light or short trips.

This stylish leather case is large enough to fit a standard iPad, and we love its chic monogram pattern.
Mark & Graham is known for their beautiful accessories, and their tech accessories are no exception. It’s large enough to fit a standard iPad, and it’s designed with style in mind. The outside of the case is lined with leather, and you can customize it with heat stamping or spray-paint lettering. You can also choose from a variety of fonts and colors for further customization.
It’s loaded with compartments, pockets, and dividers that let you efficiently organize your essentials on one side and securely store your tech accessories on the other. It’s important to note that while it theoretically has room for a tablet, it won’t fit any other large items at the same time. Morgan Ashley Parker, associate director at T+L, picked up this organizer and said its versatility is her favorite feature. “It has built-in card holders, a zippered pocket for cash and coins, and a passport slot, so it doubles as a large travel wallet,” she said. “It also holds a Kindle, multiple chargers, a phone, and my AirPods Pro.”
Released in July, this impact-resistant polycarbonate tech organizer has a large compartment for larger items (we used it to store our portable charger), three elastic compartments for smaller accessories, and extra space for a Kindle. We love how roomy it is and how everything stays neatly organized.
Durability is also a hallmark of this headset. The impact-resistant body can withstand weight without breaking, and the zippers and elastic band stay secure even with daily use. The intuitive layout and flexible compartments make it easy to get things like cables, chargers, and earbuds without having to waste time searching. A standout feature is the translucent design, allowing you to see clearly.
Although it is a bit pricey, the five-year warranty and unique anti-collision feature justify the price. Plus, it can also customize personalized services.
Thule’s roomy tech storage bag is lightweight and high-quality. The material is both protective and durable, and we never encountered any damage or loose threads during our testing. The zipper zips smoothly and doesn’t snag, and the compartment design also allows easy access to your valuable tech products.
One of the highlights of this bag is its spacious, customizable compartments, which feature velcro dividers to create different sized compartments to store your various tech devices. The elastic straps and multiple pockets are great for organizing your items, preventing them from shifting or getting damaged during transit. The price is affordable, and we think it’s great value for money, especially considering the materials and hardware feel much higher than their price. It would be nice to have a dedicated compartment for an AirTag or name tag, but the existing compartment easily accommodates one.
During our testing, we examined each tech storage bag closely, scrutinizing its fabrics and materials to evaluate its protective capabilities. Then, we filled our bags with all sorts of tech accessories and gear, including cables, adapters, headphones, power banks, tablets, e-readers, hotspots, small devices, and other tech (and non-tech) items. At this point, we checked to see if the tech items were easy to store and if each compartment was the right size. We took these tech organizers to the office, shopping, and even on trips around the world to evaluate their ease of use, quality, storage organization, and value for money.
When choosing the best tech organizer to fit your specific needs and lifestyle, start by taking inventory of the tech tools, cables, and accessories you use frequently. Look for special features like padded pockets for fragile items, elastic cord loops, and easy-to-access compartments for frequently used gear. Also consider the size of the organizer; you want to make sure it fits easily into your backpack or purse without adding unnecessary bulk.
Durable material resists tearing, and water resistance protects your electronics from the elements or accidental spills. (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spilled coffee near or, worse, on my electronics.) Protective materials like nylon, polyester, or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) resist tearing and last a lifetime. A quality zipper will also help extend the life of the case. Investing in a quality storage case will keep your accessories safe and extend the life of your travel essentials (not to mention the case itself).
Tech organizers are a must for those who carry a lot of chargers, devices, and other tech that needs to be kept secure and tangle-free. We’ve found them to be especially useful for business and office travel. The right tech storage bag should have pockets for smaller items, cord loops, a soft lining, and other protective features. For travelers who pack fewer essential tech devices (or non-fragile items), travel bags can be an alternative.
Keep your electronics organizer in an easily accessible place, such as your laptop compartment, inside your personal effects, or in the front pocket of your backpack. But be careful: If you bring a power bank, make sure it’s in a TSA-compliant location, such as your carry-on, since most airlines prohibit power banks from being checked in. Of course, you’ll need to bring any electronic accessories you plan to use during your flight.
