The four-bedroom home at 8 Lancashire Ln, North Melbourne, is on the market with a guide price of $6.75 million to $7.3 million.
A fun-loving paradise in the heart of North Melbourne is now on the market. The home boasts three luxurious levels, four terraces, five parking spaces and stunning city views.
The four-bedroom city centre property at 8 Lancashire Lane has a guide price of between $6.75 million and $7.3 million. It last sold in February 2022 for $4.5 million to a family relocating to the Mornington Peninsula.
The closest property to sell in North Melbourne in the last 12 months was 6-8 Jones Lane for $4.45 million.
Amenities available to the next owner include a dog wash station, sauna, gym, sound system, private outdoor hot tub off the master bedroom, and an elevator that runs through all three floors.
Renowned architect Victoria Hamer, a relative of former Prime Minister Sir Rupert James Hamer, converted the former warehouse in 2015, turning the ground floor into offices for her company and the second and third floors into residential space.
In 2021 the property was sold to a family and the ground floor was converted into a two-bedroom flat with its own kitchen and living area, with a separate secure entrance from Lancashire Lane, for the family’s older children.
Gross Waddell Residential director Richard Cooksley said the property was “highly unusual for North Melbourne”, particularly given its five private car parks.
“It retains the charm of a 1930s warehouse with exposed brick and a beautiful spiral staircase,” Mr Cooksley said.
“There are lots of rooms that can be used and there is a living room on each floor, so it’s a very versatile space.
At the entrance there is a dramatic wooden staircase, as well as an internal lift that runs through all three floors.
Mr Cooksley said there had been interest in the house since it went on the market three weeks ago, mainly from young professional couples with children working in the city.
On the second floor there are two bedrooms with access to a north-east facing terrace, a master bedroom with built-in wardrobes, a dressing room and a large bathroom.
On the ground floor there is a small gym, sauna and laundry room, as well as a dog washing area adjacent to the self-catering apartments.
In the central garden on the same level, a magnificent palm tree runs through the center of the house, attracting attention and bringing a touch of nature into the setting.
The upper floor features an open plan living and dining area, opposite which is a guest kitchen with stone countertops, Miele appliances and an adjoining butler’s pantry.
