Organic mattresses are made without the use of harsh chemicals that can have a negative impact on the environment. Our guide to the best organic mattresses has more details and recommendations, but here are a few of our favorites that are currently on sale.
Our top organic mattresses hit the perfect “not too hard, not too soft” benchmark. After nearly two years of testing, our reviewer reported no sagging. Avocado’s non-toxic mattresses are made from organic latex, wool, and cotton. You can read more about them in our mattress buying guide.
The Birch Luxe is one of our favorite organic mattresses, and you can find it in our best mattress guide. While mattresses are often discounted, this price is higher than what we saw on Cyber Monday. The deal includes two free Eco-Rest pillows. This medium-firm mattress is especially suitable for side sleepers. It’s made from natural latex and wool.
This mattress was voted the best two-sided mattress in our buying guide for the best organic mattresses. Most modern mattresses only have one side for sleeping. This mattress has a “soft” side and a “hard” side. The company said there was an 18% difference between the two sides. We didn’t notice this, but it would have been nice to be able to flip the mattress completely. This mattress also provides great edge support and a neutral temperature while you sleep.
This organic mattress is made primarily of latex with several layers of natural foam. It is easier to carry and move than a solid latex mattress. You can adjust the mattress in a variety of ways to choose the firmness level.
I tried this soft, affordable, organic mattress. It is cheaper than many competing mattresses. The bed is comfortable and firm, with firm edges. I like that there are handles on the sides of the bed. The manufacturer claims that they should not be used to carry the bed, but the handles provide a secure grip when you rearrange the room or move.
This little suitcase record player is made from 25% recycled plastic. We can’t say enough about this record player, but it’s safe to say that it’s a fun portable gadget if you want to take your records with you and listen to them at a friend’s house (or in the park). It’s lightweight and easy to store, and it’s Bluetooth-enabled, so if you already have records you can stream from your phone.
The Nimble Champ is our favorite portable charger. It’s super lightweight, but packs a lot of power into its small size. Nimble uses bioplastics and minimalist packaging to reduce its environmental impact, which is why we included it in our guide to the best recycled and upcycled products. This charger has enough power to charge most smartphones two to three times.
The Nimble wireless charger is one of our favorites. Its surface is made of recycled silicone, which doesn’t attract dust and lint and keeps your phone securely in place. The rest of the charger is made of recycled plastic and alloys. It comes with a 20W charger.
Unfortunately, this promotion is due to Seljak being closed, meaning the company is not accepting any returns. But you can save money on the entire Earth Blanket collection while supplies last. We love these blankets because they have a warm, fun design and are made entirely from recycled materials.
The Lo & Sons Nouvelle (8/10, WIRED recommends) is an upcycled bag made from recycled nylon and polyester. It also uses cactus instead of leather. It’s suitable for both formal and casual occasions, and has plenty of room for essentials like your phone, e-reader, and a variety of headbands. (I’m not the only one.)
One of our favorite recycled bags is the Targus, which is made from 20 recycled plastic water bottles. It comes in recycled plastic packaging. Unfold the backpack and tuck it into your laptop pocket for extra structure and protection.
Our favorite bag has a recycled nylon exterior. It has excellent weight distribution and plenty of internal pockets to help you organize your belongings, including a dedicated compartment for a 16-inch laptop. The top zips up.
This bag deserves an honorable mention in our guide to the best laptop backpacks. The roomy main compartment has a zip closure and a fleece-lined outer pocket with a snap closure. Made from recycled nylon and ripstop polyester, this bag can be used as a tote or backpack.
Smart thermostats help you save energy and money. Your energy provider may be able to make the deal better by offering discounts. This isn’t the smartest thermostat Google has ever made, but you can still use the Google Home app to set a schedule for the temperature to drop at night. The thermostat will also automatically lower the temperature when you’re away, so you don’t waste energy.
This is the most portable power station we’ve ever tested. It weighs 17 pounds and has a large handle for easy portability. The battery capacity is 768 Wh, and the multiple ports for charging your gear make it ideal for taking on camping trips. Charging the station takes just over an hour.
Our favorite is the RadRunner 2 at $1,299 ($100 off), but all of these models are currently on sale. We’ve seen price cuts before, but these deals are worth checking out if you’re looking for something similar. The RadRunner 2 is one of our favorite e-cargo bikes.
The Niu KQi3 Max (7/10, WIRED recommends) is our favorite electric scooter alternative. It’s an upgrade from the cheaper KQi3 Pro, which costs $650 ($150 off). We prefer the Pro, but the Max is better for those who live in hilly areas. These scooters offer plenty of range at an affordable price, but they’re heavy.
The Heybike Tyson is very affordable (6/10, WIRED review). This comfortable fat-tire model made our list of the best cheap e-bikes. It’s quite heavy at 77 pounds, but it has a powerful 750-watt motor and some thoughtful features, like a comfortable seat and a functional dashboard.
The Klean Kanteen Classic Water Bottle, one of our favorite reusable water bottles, is on sale for just $28 with promo code EARTH24. The coupon works on almost everything, including replacement bottle caps (if you want a straw or spout instead of a twist-off cap).
This is our favorite menstrual cup. Menstrual cups are much more eco-friendly for the planet than disposable tampons or pads, and this sale is a great time to try one if you’re interested. This menstrual cup is thin and flexible, making it ideal for first-timers.
