The makers of the Queen’s iconic handbag have paid tribute to her, saying she once said she “felt incomplete without a handbag”.
She always carries a Launer bag with her to every event, which matches her outfits, and it even appeared in her latest official photo.
Based in the heart of the leather industry in Walsall, Launer was founded in the 1940s and quickly grew to become one of the country’s leading bag manufacturers.
By the 1960s, the Queen had become a regular customer of the company, which successfully applied for a Royal Warrant.
When the company ran into financial difficulties, Mr. Bodmer, an experienced entrepreneur in the leather goods industry, rescued the company and continued to serve as its CEO.
Launer’s products can be found all over the world, and the Queen’s continued support has not harmed his reputation.
“We are very sad – many people came to see our work and were very touched by it.”
